Last seen in action this past January as a surprise participant in the, "New Japan Rambo" match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 In Tokyo Dome, Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion Fujita Jr. Hayato will be appearing at the Michinoku Pro event that will take place on June 21 at the Korakuen Hall (6:30 PM start time). He will give a speech at the beginning of the event.
Trained by legend Jinsei Shinzaki and beginning his career in December 2004 in a Michinoku Pro ring at a Korakuen Hall event, Fujita Jr. Hayato saw much success, which included not only two reigns as Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion, but also being a co-holder of the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Championship, which he defended in ZERO1.
Fujita Jr. Hayato’s very successful career took an unfortunate turn when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. In 2019, Hayato had surgery to partially remove a tumor in his spine. Four years after his career was sidetracked by the disease, Hayato returned to reclaim the Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Championship. His return was a source of inspiration for anyone who has been confronted with an obstacle in life that seemed impossible to overcome.
During Fujita Jr. Hayato’s current Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Championship reign, a health issue reemerged. He announced in December that the cancer had returned and that he would have surgery in the middle of January. Fans have been holding Hayato in their prayers, and no doubt will be anxious to hear what he has to say on June 21.
Tickets to see Fujita Jr. Hayato and Michinoku Pro action are available at Lawson Ticket, Ticket Pia, e +, and via Michinoku Pro Wrestling Telephone Reservation- 019 (687) 2431.
