WWE’s Historic Return to Japan This July

WWE has announced this week that after a five-year hiatus, they will be making their long-awaited return to Japan this July, with three live shows:

Thursday, July 25th: Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan

Friday, July 26th & Saturday, July 27th: Back-to-back shows at Ryogoku Arena in Tokyo, Japan

For WWE fans who live in Japan, the WWE Supershow Summer Tour is more than a tour- it's a homecoming celebration. WWE's past tours in Japan went over big with fans, as they had the opportunity to see WWE Superstars live and in person. This return marks a chance to reignite that magic and celebrate the deep connection between Japanese fans and former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, former WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY, and former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane, three WWE Superstars who honed their craft in Japan before joining WWE. When Nakamura returned to his roots during a previous WWE visit to Japan, he received a wild reaction from the fans. This July, the fans' response to Nakamura will likely be no different.

WWE's return to Japan will also showcase other WWE Superstars, including former WWE Champion AJ Styles, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, and former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai. This tour will be more than matches- it will be a cultural exchange, as WWE Superstars will again experience the unique passion of the Japanese wrestling audience that is known for their respect and unwavering support.

Currently, fans in Japan can watch WWE's Raw and SmackDown programs on ABEMA platforms in primetime with Japanese commentary, NXT on-demand via ABEMA Video, and WWE Premium Live Events live on ABEMA. This tour will be an opportunity for WWE to further spotlight its global reach and could lead to the WWE-Japan partnership going to another level, with future communication, collaboration, talent exchanges, and joint events. While WWE's return to Japan will be exciting for fans, it will also be a chance to rekindle a historic bond and write a new chapter in the pro-wrestling industry.

Tickets to see WWE's return to Japan will go on sale at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 via e + (where there is an exclusive presale opportunity), Lawson Ticket, Ticket Pia, and Kyodo Tokyo.
