MORE WWE
With IYO SKY currently enjoying a well-earned reign as WWE Women's Champion, and Rhea Ripley having a firm grip on the WWE Women's World Championship, I think now would be a good time for a new women's championship to be introduced- the WWE Women's Television Championship. The women's divisions of Raw and SmackDown have experienced much growth and increased popularity, giving a good reason for depth and prestige to be added to them. A WWE Women's Television Championship would give women on both brands a new championship to compete for, further elevating the status of more women on the rosters as their talents are showcased.
Top names like Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair will probably always be a part of the WWE Women's Championship / WWE Women's World Championship scene more often than not, but there is room for many other women in WWE to be utilized. I think Natalya is a great example. A total package of WWE's roster, she has a great mind for the business and represents the company very well. Plus, when WWE needs someone to work with newer female talent on the main roster or in NXT, Natalya is the wrestler WWE turns to. And with 23 years of in-ring experience, she is well-suited for the role of the first holder of the championship, defending it every week on WWE-TV. Overall, the WWE Women's Television Championship could be held by and defended against wrestlers who usually are not part of a singles championship scene and/or are not on TV often, such as Alba Fyre, Candice LaRae, Shayna Baszler, and Zelina Vega.
The WWE Women's Television Championship could be defended in NXT as well where there are also wrestlers who could be used more often, such as legend Meiko Satomura, Blair Davenport (who made a name for herself in the US, Japan, and the UK before joining NXT), and wrestlers who, although have had a presence in the NXT Women's Tag Team division, have not received as much opportunity in the singles division, such as Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, and Jacy Jayne. Not only would the involvement of NXT wrestlers further strengthen the connection between NXT and the main roster, but it would also increase the value of the championship while providing additional opportunities for NXT wrestlers.
