Michinoku Pro will start the new year with a special event on January 15 at Takizawa City Workers’ Physical Education Center in Iwate (1:00 PM start time). Existing since 1993, Michinoku Pro was created with Iwate in mind, so many events in Iwate feature matches that are not seen anywhere else in the country.
At this Michinoku Pro event, MUSASHI & Kazuki Hashimoto will defend the Tohoku Tag Team Championship against Fujita Jr. Hayato & Rui Hyugaji. The Tohoku Tag Team Championship has the distinction of having legends a part of its legacy, such as The Great Sasuke, Jinsei Shinzaki, Último Dragón, Kensuke Sasaki, and Dick Togo.
This will be MUSASHI & Kazuki Hashimoto’s first defense since winning the Tohoku Tag Team Championship earlier this month. While this is MUSASHI's second reign, Hashimoto has quickly shown his value as a tag team partner, making his wrestling debut in Michinoku Pro only 6 months ago, Hashimoto's 13-year career predominantly spent in BJW showcasing his abilities as a singles competitor. Meanwhile, although Fujita Jr. Hayato is the current Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion and Rui Hyugaji is the longest-reigning Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion of all time, neither of them are strangers to holding tag team gold. Hayato is a former NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Champion, and Hyugaji has held not only the Tohoku Tag Team Championship, but the UWA World Tag Team Championship as well during that 2017-2018 reign, which has a unique history with its roots older than Michinoku Pro itself. The championship was established in 1982 in the Universal Wrestling Association, which was based in Mexico.
The rest of the card will be announced in the near future, but it's already clear that this will be a must-see event! Tickets are available for sale via Michinoku Pro Wrestling Online Shop, Lawson Ticket, Ticket Pia,
e+, FamiPort, and Michinoku Pro Wrestling Telephone Reservation- 019 (687) 2431.
On an important note, if you purchase a ticket from someplace other than the online shop, you will have to write your address, name, and phone number on the ticket stub (the smaller one) in order to be able to enter the arena. This is a part of contact tracing procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

[Michinoku Pro][PREVIEW] Japanese legend Aja Kong appearing at the 1/14/23 Sendai event!
A very special tag team match will be hosted by Michinoku Pro on January 14 at the Sendai Hills Hotel Michinoku Hall (6:00 PM start time). And this match will feature a legend of the ring, as Aja Kong will be one of the participants!
Aja Kong has captured many championships during her career that has been continuing for over 3 decades, including the AJW Championship, the WWWA World Championship, the Sendai Girls World Championship, the all Pacific Championship, the DDT Iron Man Heavy Metal Championship, the WWWA Tag Team Championship, the Japanese Tag Team Championship, the JWP Tag Team Championship, the Daily Sports Tag Team Championship, and the KO-D Six Man Tag Team Championship.
Aja Kong has also made her presence known in the United States on more than one occasion. In 1995, Kong partcipated in an elimination match at WWE's Survivor Series premium event, where she dominated the competition and was the sole survivor. Kong also competed on WWE's weekly, "Raw" program that same year.
Aja Kong has also made appearances in AEW, a United States-based company that presents a program on national TV every week. She even participated in an AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament in 2021, making it to the semi-finals.
Aja Kong also has promoting experience: In 1997 she founded Hyper Visual Fighting ARISON, a women's wrestling promotion that she led until 2001
Aja Kong won't be the only legend involved in her match, because Kong will be teaming with The Great Sasuke, the original holder of the J-Crown and the longest-reigning NWA World Middleweight Champion in history. Across the ring from them will be Jinsei Shinzaki, another legend in the industry, who has wrestled in many major companies in Japan as well as competed for 2 years in WWE. Shinzaki's partner will be Taro Nohashi, who earlier this year (along with GAINA) enjoyed a reign as the first Tohoku, UWA World, Kyushu Pro Wrestling Triple Crown Tag Champion in pro-wrestling history.
The rest of the card will be announced in the near future, but it's already clear that this will be a must-see event! Tickets are available for sale via Michinoku Pro Wrestling Online Shop, Lawson Ticket, Ticket Pia, e+, FamiPort, and Michinoku Pro Wrestling Telephone Reservation- 019 (687) 2431.
