Many people consider Canada to be one of the best places to visit, particularly the west coast area. What may be of most interest to visitors to my blog is that Canada's west coast has an established pro-wrestling scene, which includes Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling and All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver, Big West Wrestling in Kelowna, 365 Pro Wrestling in Campbell River, Thrash Wrestling in Okanagan, and Vancouver Island Pro Wrestling in Nanaimo.
But there is much more to Canada's west coast than that. Whether you're looking for a place to explore nature, sample new foods and drinks, experience history, or engage in outdoor activities, Canada's west coast is a location to check out.
Vancouver is a great location in Canada for enjoying nature. One example is the forest of Stanley Park, which is near the English Bay and Burrard Inlet. There are 500,000 trees in this park, with trees that are hundreds of feet high. Not only is Stanley Park ideal for sightseeing, but it also is utilized for outdoor activities such as cycling and rollerblading. Winter sports enthusiasts will love spending time in Whistler, a town in Vancouver that is the main place for skiing in Canada. In fact, the 2010 Winter Olympic Games downhill ski events took place there. Whistler is also popular for its upscale dining. Vancouver is also a great place to live, with quality of living data provider Mercer ranking it as the best place to live in North America. There are many Vancouver homes for sale, and it is the chosen city for people who are interested in living at a relaxed pace.
Wine lovers will definitely want to make Kelowna a destination while they are on Canada's west coast. Kelowna paved the way for the west coast in the wine industry, thanks to Calona Vineyards in 1932. Spearhead Winery and Tantalus Vineyards are award winners in this fast-growing city that grew by 8.4% between 2011 and 2016, and visitors can enjoy annual wine-based events such as the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival and the Fall WestJet Wine Tasting at YLW. Boating, golfing, and hiking are popular outdoor activities here. Also, history lovers will enjoy visiting the Okanagan Heritage Museum. Speaking of Okanagan, the main city of Kelowna is Okanagan, which is known for being one of the best places for watersports.
Boasting an environment that creates a balanced lifestyle, Campell River offers places to see history (such as Sybil Andrews Cottage, Maritime Heritage Centre, and the Haig-Brown Kingfisher Creek Heritage Property), camping/fishing/picnicking (at Elk Falls Provincial Park), and kayaking (at Strathcona Park).
One of the most unique places on Canada's west coast is Barkerville Historic Town & Park, a restored gold-mining town that looks the way that it did in the 1800's. Barkerville has shows, shopping, exhibits, and daily programming. The town & park delivers such a realistic experience that it even offers stagecoach rides and gold panning lessons!
Another impressive slice of history can be found at Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon. An airtram trip can be taken over Hells Gate, the same river that explorer Simon Frasier traveled in the 1800's, presenting amazing views.
No matter which destination you choose first, one thing is for sure- visiting Canada's west coast will be an experience that you will never forget!
